Formal warnings, by interview or letter
Issuing ”yellow” or “red cards” with a letter to the parents where the
perpetrator is a young person (other steps may follow)
Drawing up agreements about future behaviour – known as
“Acceptable Behaviour Contracts” and “Parental Control Agreements”
Serving notices for noise abatement or fly-tipping
Improving the design and safety of the location
Action through the tenancy agreement where Homes in Havering or a
housing association owns the perpetrator’s home
Referral for specialist support where behaviour is affected by mental
ill-health, alcohol or drug misuse
Applications to court for Anti-social Behaviour Orders
Dispersal zones – authorised by the police
Temporary closure of problem premises in connection with class A
drugs or extreme anti-social behaviour
